This Bridge Theatre, a company comprised of new theatre artists, was formed with the intention of creating a community of young theatre professionals who could support each other, grow as an ensemble, and tackle challenging pieces of theatre. Many of the current members are graduate students in Universities around the United States including The National Theatre Conservatory at the Denver Center and Case Western University partnered with The Cleveland Playhouse. Many members of the company have performed in Edinburgh during the summers of 2004 and 2006 in Pepperdine University's productions of Moby Dick Rehearsed, Necessary Targets, and The Grapes of Wrath (garnering the title 'Best Looking Cast' at the festival in 2004).
In the summer of 2008, This Bridge produced four shows at the Fringe, each focusing on either Shakespeare or Chekhov as the company sees them: currently relevant, oftentimes challenging and always wildly entertaining.
Shakespeare’s R & J was commissioned by the International Shakespeare Festival in Neuss, Germany to attend the summer festivities in 2009. After a run in Mainz at the Mainz Kammerspiele Theatre, This Bridge was featured in the Globe at Neuss in June 2009.
Future Productions for This Bridge are in discussion, although no concrete plans have been set.

This bridge will only take you halfway there,
to those mysterious lands you long to see.
Through gypsy camps and swirling Arab fair,
and moonlit woods where unicorns run free.
So come and walk awhile with me
and share the twisting trails and wonderous worlds I've known.
But this bridge will only take you halfway there.
The last few steps you have to take alone.
